VIDEO DESCRIPTION - This painting tutorial will take you through easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to paint this vibrant ocean landscape image of "SUNSET SAILBOAT" with acrylic paint. You'll learn simple painting techniques that will help you to develop a realistic glowing sunset sky with a natural reflective body of water with the silhouette of a large sailboat in the foreground. Maybe the time of day is morning or evening, depicting a sunrise or a sunset… you can use your imagination! You'll learn how to add atmospheric dimension in the sky and in the ripples of the water by painting in a loose abstract style using complimentary colors in the water giving the illusion of a reflection. You'll also learn how to paint silhouettes of the large ship and its reflection with a sunshine glow along the edges of the sails, main boat, emergency floating canoe, and the other mechanical parts by painting a soft highlight on the side closest to the light source, giving a real photo quality to the painting. With the large size of the sun just glowing with the warm sunset colors, it will look as if it is melting into the horizon with the heat from the earth making it look 3-d and ready to scorch the water as it disappears beneath the sea. The bold dark colors add a moodiness to the seascape, but allowing it to have a sense of quiet stillness in this tranquil natural scene. With the construction of the composition you'll learn to paint this realistic looking outdoor waterscape that may resemble an ocean or a sea with a captivating fishing, cruising or sailing ship, or vessel, reflecting it's beautiful shape into the reflection of the water below. You can customize it to be the representation of any style boat that you would like that interests you. You could even put the silhouette of people on the boat, making it a relaxing vacation style image with family and friends soaking in the nice weather as they watch a stunning sunset, or, you could paint a flock of birds flying by or a school of fish jumping out of the water as natural accents to the scenery… just have fun with it! This painting is sure to impress the viewer and compliment the décor of any room. Using only 3 brushes and 6 colors we'll create this conversational masterpiece with a magnificent lively energy in a charming tranquil setting. So let's get painting and let's get sipping!
