When people think of specificity in training, they usually see athletes doing specific drills that relate to their sports. An example is a basketball player honing in on their dribbling or their jump shot. This is great and we’re all for it.

The part the entire industry is missing, is that you can train in the weight room and rehab room in a specific fashion.

Meaning that your strength, flexibility and rehab training can be done at the same time, with specificity encoded into it. It can actually simulate environments you would see in high performance motion scenarios, effectively giving you a direct preparation for the things life will throw at you.

When we talk about Yoga or other approaches in training, our squabble is that they aren’t specific enough.

They load the body through different ranges of motion, but don’t consider the ratios of tension and pressure dispersal, or how they relate to our biological evolution.

When we observe motion, we’re looking at forces that run this way 👆👇👈👉and aim to adapt the body to battle the forces in this way 👈👉👇👆. Forces impact our bodies in all directions, so we make sure to account for all of them as specifically as possible.

The less specific you are with creating bodily adaptability, the more likely it is that pain come backs worse than when where it started on the body.

Therapists and fitness specialists will often talk about how they “help” people, but never get into what happens to their clients after about 3 or 4 years. Why? Because they normally don’t keep people for that long when they train them. We have a proven track record of helping clients continue to train for the long haul.

This is the elephant in the room that no one wants to talk about. Physics matters and the worse you calculate for what happens in life, the worse it gets for you in the end.
