On The Hunt Ep.24 Gimme 40 Acres and I'll Find The Parts I Need

On this episode I was lucky enough to find an entire field of old trucks by talking to a few old timers and using Google Earth to find them. After making a special trip, I met the owner’s, two brothers who took over the business from their dad who started it back in the mid-70’s. What an incredible collection of old iron – I was like a kid in a candy store walking around. So many potential projects including a mint GMC General with an 8V71 Detroit that would be a great candidate for a Smokey & The Bandit Part 2 replica. Unfortunately, without additional room in the new shop for another truck, I was forced to just look for parts I needed for the #IronDuke, my 1979 Kenworrth K100 cabover truck that I recently started building. After walking the yard, not only did I find some junkyard gold including rare, impossible to find parts for my cabover, I also found some 22” aliuminum 10-hole split rings rims that I have been searching for to use on #ProjectSnowman, my Smokey and the Bandit Tribute truck. What a great day and special thanks to Trevor and Ryan for allowing me to walk their yard. Boy if some of these old trucks could talk, the stories they would tell…
