Professor Dan D’Elia is a life-long martial artist and is a Team Renzo Gracie Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He began training in March of 2008 at Renzo Gracie Northern Valley where he has been a fixture for the past 11 years. Professor Dan has a deep passion for teaching and sharing his technical knowledge of the art. His greatest joy come from spreading his knowledge, helping others succeed and experience all the benefits training martial arts has to offer.
Professor Dan’s martial arts journey began when he started training in Tae Kwon Do at 5 years old. During his teenage years he earned his brown belt in Kenpo Karate. Since beginning his BJJ journey he has been solely focused on grappling arts of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, and Judo.

Professor Dan has studied under some of the best Jiu jitsu instructors Renzo Gracie (UFC and Pride Veteran, 2x ADCC champion, 6th degree BJJ Black Belt) John Danaher (World renown Grappling and Mixed Martial Arts Coach) Braulio Estima (BJJ World Champion and ADCC Champion) Shawn Williams (4th Degree Renzo Gracie Black Belt and Head Instructor at 5 star Martial Arts LA) Carl Massaro ( 3rd Degree Renzo Gracie / John Danaher Black Belt, coach and training partner to UFC welterweight and middleweight champion Georges St-Pierre.) David Branch (UFC Middleweight and former World Series of Fighting Middleweight and Light Heavyweight Champion)
