Welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul and this video we're breaking down Deadpool.

With the third film right around the corner I thought we'd return to the original to talk about how it was made, the easter eggs in it and everything that brought us this comic book classic.

Now Ryan Reynolds was put in Maximum effort in order to get it released with it originally looking like it would never see the light of day. You see the film had actually been in development since 2004 with David S Goyer penning the script. Coming off the back of Blade Trinity the pair had worked together to make...well....what was basically deadpool-lite which had started to pave the way.

This is why they throw this line in later as it was supposed to be a nod to the roots of him getting the role.

Artisan had signed a deal with Marvel just 4 years earlier and they seemingly owned the rights to the character.

Reynolds was down to do it and thus the pair started putting it together but they ran into a snag.

Turned out that owned the rights to the X-men and technically that ecompassed Deadpool as well.
