Dr. Alfred Seidl, Hess's counsel, read into the record the minutes of a meeting on June 10, 1941 between Hess and Sir John Simon, the British Foreign Minister among others. It concerned the flight to Scotland. the transcript noted that Hess stated the "the Fuehrer had always wanted an agreement between England and Germany to be achieved." The two principal terms would be sphere of influence would be defined: Axis in Europe and England it's Empire. Hess confirmed that the flight was without Hitler's knowledge.
