The Wilcraft Ice Fishing Amphibious Vehicle | INVENTORS | PBS Digital Studios

Описание к видео The Wilcraft Ice Fishing Amphibious Vehicle | INVENTORS | PBS Digital Studios

Every year people risk their lives driving pickup trucks onto frozen lakes just to go ice fishing. If the ice is too thin, the truck can break through and sink. Tom Roering's invention, the Wilcraft, can drive on ice, and it floats in water. It provides a safe amphibious alternative for ice fishing, and is even available in a modified version for rescue personnel to use in saving a person who has fallen through thin ice.

'Inventors' is a series of portrait videos by filmmaker and photographer David Friedman, chronicling the work of contemporary inventors from all walks of life. It offers rare glimpses into the inspiration for their creations, which range from the first digital camera and first video game console to a drive-able amphibious ice-fishing vehicle.
