Like Grandma's Handmade Traditional Bak Chang, So Good! | SohGood Bak Chang (豐年肉粽) | SG Hawker Food

Retired from corporate life, Mr Soh set up the stall 2 years ago selling Hokkien-style, traditional handmade rice dumplings. Following the way his grandma and mother used to cook at home, only 4 flavours are offered. Two of which are the traditional pork belly Bak Chang, w/wo salted egg yolk. Another 2 are red bean paste Kee Chang w/wo tangerine peel.

Despite the limited selections, preparing and cooking the ingredients is no simple feat. Everything is prepared fresh at the stall - from marinating pork, chestnuts, frying glutinous rice, etc. Each dumpling, filled full with ingredients, is wrapped with bamboo leaves and tied with straw ropes - a rare sight nowadays as many stalls use raffia strings.

As it goes without saying, the Bak Chang and Kee Chang are so good and tasty. Pamper yourselves and get your cravings fixed today!
