PERSONAL PRONOUNS in Italian (Subject/Object): IO, ME, MI, TU, TE, TI, NOI, CI, VOI, VI, etc

In this lesson, I’ll show you the personal pronouns in Italian, such as “io, me, mi, tu, te, ti, lui/lei, lo, li,” etc.

--------------------------- SUMMARY OF THE LESSON -------------------------

The personal pronouns (pronomi personali) can be split into two groups: subject and object.

(1) SUBJECT PRONOUNS - 0:20
They take the place of the noun which is the subject of the sentence; this means that they perform the action of the verb.

IO = I
TU = you
LUI = he
LEI = she
NOI = we
VOI = you
LORO =they

Example: Io leggo un libro = I read a book

(2) OBJECT PRONOUNS - 2:39
They can be the direct or indirect object of a verb.

ME/MI
TE/TI
LUI/LO
LEI/LA
NOI/CI
VOI/VI
LORO/LI/LE

Example (I): C’è una sorpresa per te = there’s a surprise for you
Example (II): Ti piace questa canzone? = do you like this song?
Example (III): Voglio ringraziarti
