After taking the local red bus from Chiang Rai to Chiang Khong I spent 2 nights in Chiang Khong.

I booked the Nagi of Mekong 2 Day Cruise from Day 1 -Huay Xai to Pak Beng, Laos. Day 2 Pak Beng, Laos to Luang Prabang, Laos.

If you want a unique travel experience that doesn't involve a typical method of transportation like an airplane, bus or train than this 2 Day slow boat cruise is definitely for you!!

An incredible buffet lunch and unlimited coffee was also included. Pictures are always FREE :)

The tour operator - Vietasiatravel picked me up at my hotel @ Namkhon Guesthouse in the early morning in Chiang Khong. They made crossing from Thailand into Laos very easy as they tell you everything you need to know!

It was $40 to cross :) You have to try this journey out!

The first day on the Luxury Mekong Riverboat Cruise started in Huay Xai and went down the incredible Mekong River slowly and gracefully dodging gigantic rocks and boulders in the magnificent Mekong River. No lies!!

After about 8 hours cruising we arrive in Pak Beng, Laos. Where I spend one night before hoping on the boat the next day.

I felt super safe and we even had the option of leaving our luggage on the boat if we didn't want to carry it up all the stairs to the hotel.
