If you want a unique travel experience that doesn't involve a typical method of transportation like an airplane, bus or train than this 2 Day slow boat cruise is definitely for you!!

After cruising for 8 hours from Huay Xai to Pak Beng we continue Day 2 up the incredible Mekong River from Pak Beng to Luang Prabang, Laos.

Day 2 started waking up and opening the shutters to an amazing foggy yet sunny sky over looking the Mekong River! What a start to the day!

I was transfered to this upgraded room for free at a different hotel as my original hotel was fully booked! I was then on a hunt to find breakfast at my actual hotel.

I found it just up the street and it was fully stocked with fresh fruit and coffee with another incredible outdoor patio view of the Mekong River.

After breakfast I headed down to the boat and we started cruising enjoying the views.

A couple hours later we got off the boat at a local village where they made hand made scarves out of silk right in front of my eyes!

They also make rice whisky that was free to taste. But I missed it as I was exploring the village on my own.

Back on the boat and a couple more hours we were at Pak Ou Caves. This was a massive cave where the stairs where carved right into the mountain. You have to see it to believe it! This place had apparently almost 5000 buddha statues everywhere.

Then shortly after hiking to the top cave to explore I rested and enjoyed the views. Then I headed back down to the boat and we shortly arrived in Luang Prabang!
