This video is about clear cover. Clear cover can be defined as 'the distance of the reinforcement from the bottom or top of the structural element. Clear cover is generally provided to avoid the corrosion of reinforcement bar. Generally following clear cover distance are recommended for different structural elements;
Footing = 50mm
Column= 40mm
Beam = 25mm
Shear wall = 25mm
Slab =15mm
Staircase =15mm
Retaining wall = 20-25mm
