Stars Constellate Your Fate (Official Video)

Описание к видео Stars Constellate Your Fate (Official Video)

I had some spare time and thought it'd be a fun idea to make a little music video for this song.
As the album is an Eldritch Horror concept album, I wanted to make an Eldritch Horror themed video. So I did!

Lyrics:
Staying above the tides of pain
In this careening boat made of flesh
Swim, ever on swim, hold on and cling
To a hope spelled out by distant lights
Destiny, fate, predetermination
Bars of steel set in place by

Astronomical entities

Why

Do not ask
Do not cry
Just accept and live our lie
Seek no out
Seek no escape
Just give in to your fate

My role predestined
How can I break these chains

Reality bends to their will
Shifts our path and stead
So close, so close to success
Yet arbitrary chance defies us
In the end we are nothing but slaves
To

Constellations of blazing light

Why

Do not ask
Do not cry
Just accept and live our lie
Seek no out
Seek no escape
Just give in to your fate

There is no escape for us
Just pawns in this game of dice

Predestined
(Is it just a word)
This world of terror
(Destined by whom)

Or are we just afraid to face our own
Responsibility in this insanity

About this song and its themes:
The stars always play a role in the lovecraftian mythos, either as prophecisers of what's to come or as a downright powerful tool to get what you want.
It's easy to try and blame the stars for things that go bad (or good), and humans have done that for a long time. While we advance in science and slowly figure out how everything works, we still encounter (mostly bad) things that seemingly randomly happen, and oftentimes, leave us scarred, scared and sad. And powerless. We deem ourselves lost and unable to change our "fate" - and it's not entirely untrue. Many things happen that we have no control over - in Eldritch Horror, too. And here they are often directly linked to the stars.
Nontheless, what we do with what we have is hugely powerful still. So while this song does deal a lot with the feeling of being powerless, it ends on a more thoughtful, almost positive note: We can do stuff! We can change our fate. And I do believe we often choose to not do so because we are scared of the unknown. I try to overcome that fear, sometimes more, sometimes less. But I still try.
