Kyaik Ka San Pagoda (ကျိုက္ကစံစေတီတော်) / Most Visited Place in yangon / Myanmar

According to archeological sources, the title "Kyaikkasan Pagoda" is derived from the Mon name "Kyaik Asan" and later changed to the name Kyaikkasan. According to the Mon language, Kyaik = Buddha; Ashan means arahant. It means a pagoda built by monks. According to historical records, Kyaikkasan Pagoda is located 1500 yards northwest of Shwedagon Pagoda and has a height of 235.75 feet.

Kyaikkasan is derived from the Mon word Kyat Thin.

Kyit - (pronounced Kyaik) = God.
You = Sangha;
It means a deity worshiped by the Sangha. [1]

On the four sides of the third wall of the Kyaikkasan Pagoda, animal heads are sculpted to allow water to flow from the mouth like an oasis.

Near the southeastern wall, a furniture pagoda was erected under the auspices of the Buddha. အIt is lush and green with big Buddhist trees such as jasmine and jasmine. It is said that a pagoda was built near King Mok Oo on the west side of Kyaikkasan Pagoda for the benefit of King Mindon.

It is recorded that the Kyaikkasan Pagoda was destroyed in 2317 by the Shinthara Kitti Ashin Thu Myat, a native of Saku. In 2376, the Sasana was destroyed again, so it was repaired by King Min Hla Raza and donated to the Golden Umbrella. In the year 2392, Hanthawaddy's official minister, King Thato, King Maha Minkhaung Raza Thu and villagers from his subordinates' area repaired the temple. You will find five silver statues and one bronze statue. They sacrificed for three months and then re-dedicated. In 2394, he and his family built a wall that was not finished during the original renovation. The plaster work was completed. And 164 baskets[2]
