How to use a SELFCHECK Self Test Kit

Описание к видео How to use a SELFCHECK Self Test Kit

Some SELFCHECK self test kits require a small blood sample from your finger tip. Make sure you read the instructions through first before touching the components or starting the test. It is easy to see your result - the instructions will tell you how long to wait depending on the test you are using but generally it is about 10 minutes. The results are easily interpreted as one line negative or two lines positive. The instruction leaflet gives you further information on appropriate course of action to take - see www.selfchecktests.com for details of our full range of blood and other self test kits.

Key points:

1) Press the lancet (very) firmly against your finger tip - then press the button to activate the needle - be brave! The lancet is specifically designed to reduce pain from the finger prick. You will not see the needle at any time as it retracts into the casing of the lancet after activation for safety reasons. We provide you with two lancets. Not because one might not work, but because there is a chance that you might not press firmly enough with the first lancet if you are unfamiliar with this particular brand.

2) You will need to collect drops of blood about the size of a ladybird . Hold the pipette horizontal to the blood drop (blood doesn't flow up hill!) but don't press the bulb, the pipette fills automatically by capillary action.

3) Once the blood reaches the black line on the pipette it will stop filling as this is the correct amount of blood to use in the test. The blood can be ejected in to the sample well of the test cassette by squeezing the pipette bulb (the bulb will only work if the blood is filled to the black line). It's a simple but clever design to ensure you add the right amount of blood).

The two, high quality, sterile lancets supplied with your SELFCHECK tests are the same as those used in hospitals and clinics and are designed to be simple to use and are manufactured by Oxford based medical company Owen Mumford.

SELFCHECK tests are assembled in the UK by JR Biomedical Ltd under a full medical quality system (ISO13485:2016).
