In depth look at the best wood stove

Описание к видео In depth look at the best wood stove

Beause you wanted more info! How the stove works, some variations.
You have probably watched the earlier video on the ULTIMATE camping wood stove. IF NOT:    • Easy DIY for the ULTIMATE camping woo...  . No joke: this stove is super easy and free to make and burns better than others, likes wind and actually transfers all that heat into your pot. It works as well as a kettle stove, but you get to cook in a pot. That is a great advantage, because it saves you bringing a separate plate and/or cup. Also great soot management. Also good alternative to a Solo stove: the cup is integrated in the stove, so the heat is not blown away by the wind, and the chimney is much higher, resulting in better and faster burning.

Which size cup? The one I used for this stove is a Lixada 550ml titanium alloy, that is relatively cheap and very lightweight. I love it for solo use. Even smaller would be possible if you only cook water in it and then pour that in a freezer cooking bag, but when you cook a one pot meal in it this is for me the smallest possible size. It's here: https://amzn.to/3AC7Fgb
This stove likes narrow pots. I have used it with an 800 ml cup for years, which worked great. If you want to go 2 persons, consider this one: https://amzn.to/3OvifLG for minimalism or this one: https://amzn.to/3GZpcD9 for more comfort.

The Kelly kettle in this video is a Trekker aluminium. Also great but very different. https://amzn.to/3Vl0GQC

This is what a solo stove looks like: https://amzn.to/3B4BI0n and that is of course a good stove if you want to use different diameter pots or you like wider but lower pots. It will cook slower and cost more though.

Afterburning or secondary burning in camping wood stoves: it is actually not hard to build a camping stove that will give you secondary air, like for instance the bush buddy. This means that air is first heated by your fire and then introduced. That ignites the gasses that were not completely burned. A great thing in your wood stove at home, that will burn for hours, because it's efficiëncy can increase from 70% to 85%. In THIS stove I found that it is pointless, because by the time the stove is so hot that the afterburning can start, your water will already be cooking. It's just that good.
