After the death of Shivaji Maharaj Maratha empire and Mughal empire engage in a fierce battle between 1680 to 1707. Aurangzeb wanted to invade the Maratha Enclave in Bijapur, which was established by the Maratha leader Shivaji. After the death of Aurangzeb in 1707 Marathas defeated the Mughals in Delhi and Bhopal, and extended their empire up to Peshawar by 1758.
