NDPP Kohima region felicitates elected councillors from Kohima, Chiephobozou

Kohima, July 3: The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) today felicitated the ULB elected Councillors from Kohima Municipal Council and Chiephobozou Town Council at NDPP Conference Hall, Kohima.
Speaking on the occasion, Nagaland’s chief minister Neiphiu Rio congratulated all the elected Councilors for winning the ULB Election on NDPP ticket and strengthening the party.
NDPP is a regional party, it has its own ideology and vision to protect and preserve Naga identity, history, tradition, customary and culture, he said and asked the councillors to uphold the party ideology and principles.
He said that the British expedition to the Naga Hills during 1832 had never disturbed the traditional, cultural and customary practice of Nagas.
He stressed on the need to strengthen the regional party in Nagaland for the protection of Nagas in general and for the younger generation.
He called upon all the Councilors to give their best in their responsibility and work for the welfare of the community.
“Privilege comes with responsibilities,” he added.
Stating that municipals and town councils will be constituted in a day or two, Rio said that developmental funds will come through various establishments from state grants, planning commission etc.
He challenged the Kohima Municipal Councilors to be more responsible as Classic Club Kohima coined Kohima as the mirror of Nagaland.
Salhoutuono Kruse, Minister for Horticulture & Women Resource Development and Dr. Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor, School Education & SCERT delivered a speech on behalf of legislators.
Minister Kruse congratulated all the Councillors both from Kohima & Chiephobozou for winning the ULB Election.
She challenged all councilors to give their best in developing their respective wards as everyone has high expectation from them.
Yhome also congratulated all the councilors and assured to work together to develop urban areas.
Neikhozo Suokhrie, Thenusoü Sekhose Yhome and Kekhrieneinuo Zumvu spoke on behalf of the counsellors.
They all committed to give their best in developing the wards into a model town in their respective wards.
They requested the party workers to guide them in their future endeavors.
The programme was chaired by Prasielie Pienyü, President NDPP Kohima Region & Chairman, NHHDC while vote of thanks was proposed by Kechangulie Kense, general secretary, NDPP Kohima region.
