Tikona Fort -
Tikona also known as Vitandgad, is the dominant hill fort in Maval in western India. It is located near Kamshet around 60 km from Pune. The village nearest to the fort is called Tikona-Peth. The 3500 foot high hill is pyramidal in shape and the name Tikona means "triangular".
The fort is a trekking destination noted for the large doors, the temple of 'Trimbakeshwar Mahadev', seven water tanks (seven water tanks), and some Satvahan caves. Trek organisers also commend the views of Pavana dam and the nearby forts of Tung, Lohagad and Visapur. There is a good view of Pavana lake from the summit.
Little is known about the origins of this fort. There is a vihara on the fort datable to circa seventh-eight centuries A.D. Malik Ahmad Nizam Shah I of the Nizam Shahi dynasty conquered the fort in 1585 and annexed it to the Nizam territory. In 1657, Shivaji I brought the whole of Konkan, which had been Nizam territory, under his control when he conquered Tikona along with the forts of Karnala, Lohgad, Mahuli, Songad, Tala, and Visapur. This fort was a strategic nexus: the centre of control for the entire Pawana Mawal region.

तिकोना -
तिकोना हा भारताच्या महाराष्ट्र राज्यातील एक किल्ला आहे.
पवना नदीवरील धरणाजवळ पुण्याच्या साधारण ६० कि.मी. अंतरावर असणारा हा किल्ला समुद्रसपाटीपासून सुमारे ३,५०० फूट उंच आहे. या किल्ल्यावरून ३-४ कि.मी. अंतरावरील तुंग किल्ला दिसतो. किल्ल्याच्या त्रिकोणी आकारामुळे याला तिकोना असे नाव पडले आहे .
तिकोना गडाचा फारसा इतिहास उपलब्ध नाही. परंतु पंधराव्या शतकाच्या अखेरीस, मलिक अहमद निजामशहा याने इ.स. १४८२-८३ च्या सुमारास जुन्नर प्रांतावर स्वारी करून जुन्नरचा बराचसा प्रांत आपल्या ताब्यात घेतला. त्यानंतर त्याने लोहगड काबीज केला. नंतर त्याने आपला मोर्चा तुंग व तिकोना गडांकडे वळविला.इ.स. १४८५ मध्ये मलीक अहमद निजामशाहने हा किल्ला जिंकून निजामशाहीत आणला. इ.स. १६५७मध्ये शिवाजी महाराजांनी हा किल्ला जिंकून परत स्वराज्यात आणला. पुढे ११ जून १६६५ साली झालेल्या इतिहास प्रसिद्ध 'पुरंदरचा तहात' शिवाजी महाराजांनी जयसिंगाला दिलेल्या २३ किल्ल्यांपैकी तिकोना हा एक किल्ला होता. नेताजी पालकर यांच्याकडे काही दिवस तिकोना किल्ल्याची जबाबदारी होती.
