Monkey Shoulder

In this Photoshop layer walk-through, I combined loads of exposures to create the final image although the final edit was considerably less smokey.



The bottle is lit with a huge scrim as the main light source and then a number of exposures are captured to give me lots of choice when it comes to masking in the whisps of smoke.


There's some pretty advanced masking going on and some localised colour grading applied to the smoke.



I also use frequency separation and a couple of other techniques to finish the product off and replace the label on the Angosturas bitters.
