"Mac" can stand for many things; there is the computer, the fast food, ... but for a true railfan there is only one MAC: EMD SD70MAC, this manufacturer's successful entry into the AC traction locomotive world in the mid-1990s. More than a thousand were built during a decade and the last was assembled in 2004. The model was succeeded by the SD70ACe. In this video, we follow CSX SD70MAC #4563, leading manifest Q582, from Elberton, GA (the "world capital of granite") to Athens, GA. Autorack trains L210 and Q211, both seen in Hull, GA, complete the selection of trains in this video. Enjoy!
