Growing Wheat - with hand tools

Wheat has been one of the most important cereal crops in our part of the world the last several thousand years and this is me growing some using hand tools. That's probably quite close to how people have done it way back in time, but I'm doing it a lot more amateurishly. Join the fun and grow some wheat!

I grow a heirloom variety from Halland in Sweden, it's called Fram 1 and it's a spring wheat. I sow it in may and reap it in September. The plot where it grew was a south facing slope with clay soil to which I added a little horse manure. There were a lot of weed seeds in the soil since it grew a nice bottom layer of clover.

A kg was what I managed to grow on my 8 square meters. It was fun!
