Abandoned Mines, Glaciers and untouched land | It'll Take your Breath Away | Destination Adventure

I have finally made my way to Stewart, and let me tell you, this place is incredible. This is the northern most ice free port in North America, and with a population of about 500 people, this land is seen by few and touched by fewer. After I got myself settled in and found my camping spot, I launched the boat right away to do a little ocean exploring. Once you get out past all the river silt, the ocean turns into a beautiful blue green, and if it wasn't for the snow topped mountains and frigid water temperature, you might think you were somewhere tropical. As my journey continues north, I understand that it is more and more difficult for many people to access these places, but it is strange seeing a place that is so beautiful and no tourists around.
As the channel grows, it comes with certain opportunities and today was a special one for me. Occasionally someone will reach out with a special offer, but most of these adventure trips I get to go out on are a result of many many emails. When I arrived into Stewart, I knew that Yellowhead Helicopters would be a recipient of one of these emails, and I was pleasantly surprised to get a great response from them. These are a great group of folks, and they brought me up for an incredible tour of the area. Without this opportunity, I would never have had the chance to see the Salmon Glacier, because you have to pass through Alaska to access it, even though it is in fact in BC. There is a couple of teaser shots in there of an abandonedI am route planning currently, but it is a very high elevation location, with the bottom being boat access. I am going to try my best on this one guys, but no promises.

I know the last video wasn't all fun and games, but a little bit of a reality check. I personally am not a fan of those videos, especially after having dealt with all of it first, but It is important to me not to display an image of this lifestyle that is not accurate. I am thankful for the life that I live, but it does come with challenges like any other, so I want to say thank you once more to my Patrons.   / destinationadventure
