Pointer #1: What is RATIO? Ratio of a diamond refers to the length of the diamond divided by the width. The lower the ratio, the plumper the oval. The higher the ratio, the longer it is. The “ideal” ratio for you will generally depend on your finger shape and size but always comes down to personal preference.

Pointer #2: Shorter ratio Ovals will give you more coverage horizontally. And higher ratios give coverage vertically.

Pointer #3: Our ovals are special because we go above and beyond to pick only the best cuts! We always try to source stones with minimal amounts of bowtie. Having a high quality setting can also have a positive effect on lessening the amount of bowtie reflected in the stone.

Pointer #4: Bear in mind that the color of the metal of your setting can reflect into the stone. Two-tone settings offer the ability to have a colored band, without compromising the pure color of the center stone. Conversely, having a full setting in yellow or rose gold allows you more flexibility on the color of the stone.

Pointer #5: 14k rose gold is comprised of 57.5% of pure gold mixed with copper; 18k gold is made up of 75% gold, 25% copper. 14k will give you a more pink color and a harder metal, where 18k will give you a warmer, champagne toned gold.
