THE WOMAN IN WHITE Ch 4 The Mysterious Woman

Описание к видео THE WOMAN IN WHITE Ch 4 The Mysterious Woman

Illustrated reading: Awesome novel by Wilkie Collins!
In this chapter, Walter Hartright, walking to London from his mother's cottage, encounters a mysterious woman dressed in white. She is distressed and asks him to help her. She won't say who she is or who she is afraid of, although she hints that it is afraid of a baronet. She puts her trust in Walter, but she will not divulge anything about herself, except notably, that she spent some time in Cumberland, and mentions Limmeridge House and the name of the Fairlie family, whom she loves.
Walter is astonished, because that is where he is headed for his new teaching assignment. She won't say anymore about it. They walk toward London together for quite a while, mostly in silence.
When they get there, at her request, Walter hails a cab for her, and she leaves to go where ever she was determined to go.
Right afterwards two men driving a carriage hail a night policeman and say they are searching for a woman in white. When the policeman asks why they are searching for her, the men say why and the reason is a doozy!
