Machine Knitting - Cast On Techniques - Part 1 of 2 - Open cast on

Описание к видео Machine Knitting - Cast On Techniques - Part 1 of 2 - Open cast on

These techniques can be applied to any brand, and any gauge of flatbed knitting machine that has sinker posts - or gate pegs as they are sometimes known. So they won’t apply to the plastic bed machines like the LK150, where the needles are in channels.

Open cast on edges are temporary and the stitches are not fixed, or locked in place. They are speedy to knit, and ideal for tension pieces, and quick experiments. Also useful for when an edge is to be picked up later, either to be turned into a hem, or perhaps knitted down by hand.

I have demonstrated on an SK280.
