14+ grueling miles today (lots of steep hills with Penny Jane Miller Weaver. Yes, May 25 was our most challenging day, in my opinion. Lots of uphills and rocks. But very beautiful, too. The rain held off until 3, but as we were still walking, it was poncho time again! The photos don’t do justice to the elevation on these hills. One was a 15% grade that we slowly made our way up. In hindsight, I wish our itinerary had us walk only to Arcade for the day, continuing to Pontevedra the next. But, as we are two “fucking old ladies” (FOLs), we are rockstars and did it in one!
