Our first family cruise, onboard Discovery Princess to the Mexican Riviera, January 2023

This was our first ever cruise, and we were pretty nervous how we'd end up liking it, but it was amazing! In fact, we loved it so much that we went back on #discoveryprincess 3 weeks later!

Our itinerary took us to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas.

We did not pre-purchase or arrange any excursions, as we really weren't sure how much we would be able to do with the kids.

We took a taxi in Puerto Vallarta from the Port to the Malecon and explored quite a bit. We loved the Cuale River area, played at the beach near the port, and ate gelato on the Malecon.

In Mazatlan, we took a pulmonia from the port to the Acuario and then did a pulmonia tour of the city. The kids both fell asleep, so we didn't get to see as much as we would have liked to.

Once we got off the ship in Cabo, we booked a tour of El Arco for about $80 for the 4 of us. We probably could have bartered even more for a better price, but we were the only ones on the tour, so it was worth it to us. Afterward, we walked around the marina and ended up doing a tequila tasting (we did come home with bottles)!

We loved the ports, the ship, and our first cruise so much. If you're on the fence, give it a try, I don't think you'll regret it.
