Audio 101 - Gain Structure and Noise - Part 2

Описание к видео Audio 101 - Gain Structure and Noise - Part 2

Welcome to Part 2 of "Gain Structure and Noise" where I will demonstrate 2 different ways that gain structure can be done and the final end-results of doing it both ways (One way which, in my opinion, is simply improper).

Please be sure to watch Part 1 first so you can understand exactly what I'm doing in this video and WHY:

Part 1:    • Audio 101 - Gain Structure and Noise ...

0:00 - Intro
0:40 - Description of the 2 methods I'll use for gain structure
1:05 - Equipment Setup and signal flow
3:05 - METHOD 1 - Gain structuring backwards from the speaker
3:51 - First example of system noise (using Method 1)
10:23 - Secondary problem of bad gain structure (metering)
12:24 - How to record ONLY system noise
13:28 - Measuring Noise Floor with Method 1
14:12 - METHOD 2 - Gain structure (properly) from beginning of signal chaing
19:36 - Measuring Noise Floor with Method 2
21:27 - Is there a major difference in noise? And What will this depend on?
22:32 - Adding noise from external destinations
22:58 - WHY your destinations MATTER
24:15 - Listening to Noise Floors
27:23 - Practical Examples of noise floor while speaking on a microphone
31:29 - Conclusions

I hope you are able to hear the results, and remember proper gain structure: Start at the beginning of the signal chain, and work your way through to the end of the signal chain!!

Let me know if you have any comments, questions, criticisms, etc. Thank you!
