Untold History of Music Therapy | Challenging Historical Narratives

The history of music therapy is an interesting one. The one I learned in school comes from a primarily Euro-centric narrative. However, when we really delve deep into the history of therapeutic uses of music, we see many diverse cultures writing about this topic up to 2300 years ago! In this video I wanted to highlight some of these ancient cultures that have explored the effect of music on our well-being, and challenge the narrative lens I've been conditioned to see through.
