Kids In Remote India State Train In Traditional Pole Wrestling Sport | Never Out Of Reach 2

Описание к видео Kids In Remote India State Train In Traditional Pole Wrestling Sport | Never Out Of Reach 2

In the landlocked state of Chhattisgarh, the Abujhmad Mallakhamb and Sports Academy is currently training 100 youths from Abujhmad and its neighbouring areas. Some of these children live deep within Naxal territories and some come from impoverished villages. But what they have in common is their will to escape their dire circumstances through competing in mallakhamb.

Mallakhamb, literally meaning 'pole wrestling', is a traditional India martial arts sport. It is a cross between aerial yoga and gymnastics but performed on vertical pillars and hanging ropes. With over 150 national medals under their belt, the students have set their eyes on the newly organised World Mallakhamb Championships - and one day, maybe even the Olympics.
