But it’s a complex bill that doesn’t just impact agriculture -- it affects everyone's health, environment, economy and society. Today, the farm bill includes protective measures covering every facet of food production and distribution.

The current farm bill expires in September, so lawmakers are currently working on a new farm bill for 2018. As TWILA's Karl Wiggers shows us, that was one of the main topics when Louisiana Farm Bureau Young Farmers & Ranchers recently visited Capitol Hill.
