560SL - R107 Kickdown Solenoid & Speedometer Pickup

Описание к видео 560SL - R107 Kickdown Solenoid & Speedometer Pickup

In this video, I test and replace the automatic transmission kickdown solenoid. I include part numbers for the o-rings and the solenoid (inner and outer). The automatic transmission kickdown solenoid is responsible for initiating a downshift in the transmission when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed. If your R107 is not downshifting, this might be the culprit.

I am documenting every part of the 560SL restoration build . The idea is to end up with the best documented 560SL rebuilds on the Internet.

I want everyone who visits my channel to know about a friend of mine named Tasos. His videos inspire me to be more like him. He is so much better than I am. You can find his YouTube channel at:

My videos are not sponsored by anyone. The products and tools I use are products and tools I have purchased with my own money. I include links below to any special tools or products used in this video.

To remove the O-rings I recommend a non scratch O-ring pick tool like this one:

For the first test of the kickdown solenoid I used the Kungber DC Power Supply Variable | 30V 10A Adjustable Switching Regulated DC Bench Power Supply. I really like this power supply:

For the second test I tested ohms using the ETEPON Digital Multimeter True RMS 6000 Auto Raging Voltage Tester, Measures Voltage, Current, Resistance, Continuity, Frequency, Capacitance, Temperature, Test Diodes and Transistors. This is well worth the money:

That's all the special tools and products I used in this video.

I will be doing a YouTube live when I start this car for the very first time since 2008. Make sure you get notified when I publish a new video so you don't miss this special one-time event.
