Birding in Sichuan, China's Top Destination with the Most Endemic Bird Species | Longcanggou

Longcanggou, located in Sichuan Province, China, is the only place in the world where you can consistently see the Gold-fronted Fulvetta.

This area, ranging in elevation from 1,000 to 3,000 meters, features diverse habitats such as bamboo forests and mixed coniferous-broadleaf forests. It is home to over 10 Chinese endemic species and 8 species of parrotbills, making Longcanggou a must-visit destination for birders in China.

The Xijian Zhushe Inn, located in Longcanggou, is a birder-friendly accommodation built by birders for birders. Its owner, Mr. Hu, is a seasoned local bird guide with extensive knowledge of the surrounding avian life and has been a friend of mine for many years.
