Vikings 4x14 Reaction Part 2

we all know whats coming...

i didn't think i would need to split this episode into two parts, but then i went ahead and left most of the second part of the episode in, cause i couldn't cut any of it.

im again gonna write the same description for both parts. and im gonna keep it short cause i wont be able to give this episode the proper analysis it deserves.

we were so conflicted with what lagertha did, we're still not a 100% sure how to feel about it but we're going with it, the main thing is that to us it came out of no where so that's why we needed time to adjust. we still love her and still think she a great character

i think the main thing about this episode was the scenes between ragnar and ecbert. whenever those two are on screen together the episode if elevated to another level.
by far my favorite part is how the show handled the topic of religion. when that's done well it's amazing. i'm not a religious person, i would consider myself an agnostic so listening to that conversation about whether or not god/odin is real was breathtaking especially here cause the vikings culture and christianity in those days played a much larger part then they do now and listening to these two people, who are so much alike, question it is one of the best scenes of vikings and on television

'so, even if the gods don't exist it's still necessary to have them.'
'if they don't exist, then they don't exist. we have to live with it'

(also i think we can all relate to having drunken conversation about religion, although now im wondering if ecbert was actually drunk or faking it cause a few episodes later he and alfred were drinking wine but he was actually drinking water and that was his lesson, i guess we'll never know)
