On Aug. 26, 2024, 89 Sierra Club members and partners in 13 states (AK, CA, IL, MA, MD, NY, OH, OR, PA, TX, VA, WA, WI) joined a virtual conservation with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Edward Humes, author of Total Garbage: How We Can Fix Our Waste and Heal Our World. Recently reviewed by Sierra magazine, the book tackles the waste crisis with big solutions.

The event was co-sponsored by California Zero Waste Committee, California Energy-Climate Committee, Atlantic Chapter Environmental Education Committee, Grassroots Network Climate Emergency Mobilization Team and Cool OC (a local NGO in California).
