Placement of dental implant are minor surgical procedure which requires a thorough evaluation of the systemic health. If the patient is a known diabetic or a known hypertensive or has previous history of various cancer or any other reason, it has to be diagnosed and we should do a full evaluation of the patient before we go for a dental implant. There are some tests which are prescribed or prescribed for the patient so that we assess the patients systemic health before placing a dental implant. If the patient is a diabetic or a hypertensive, then the consideration of blood sugar levels and his medication, what kind of medication he is taking dictates the kind of dental treatment we will have to continue. So basic blood tests, complete blood picture, blood counts, bleeding time and clotting times are the basic things which are usually advised for the patient before performing a dental implant surgery.
