Best hybrid family car? Hyundai Santa Fe 2024 review: Is the new 3-row SUV better than Kia Sorento?

The 2024 Hyundai Santa Fe is all about making a big statement, which is a traditionally funny thing to say about a three-row family car or any large SUV for that matter. Either way, it's clear that the fifth-generation model is looking to make its presence felt with its divisive exterior design, which is unlike that of its predecessor.

Yep, the next-gen Santa Fe is going its own way with boxy styling that will, at the very least, ensure that plenty of people are talking about it in traffic and in passing. But the new six- or seven-seater is also announcing itself by debuting with a 'self-charging' series-parallel petrol-electric hybrid powertrain, which effectively replaces the fourth generation's 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine.
