Thomas Fuchs: Why Does Mental Illness Exist? Reflections on Human Vulnerability

Описание к видео Thomas Fuchs: Why Does Mental Illness Exist? Reflections on Human Vulnerability

This talk by Prof. Dr. Dr. Thomas Fuchs aims to show a new perspective on the question:
“Why does mental illness exist?”
Is it something that – as Henri Maldiney suggests – constitutes us, is it based solely on biological causes, our unconsciousness, social environment or a traumatic past? Fuchs argues that none is the sole reason for mental illness and therefore wants to shed light on possible conditions that contribute to humans becoming mentally ill from a fundamental philosophical perspective.
