For years, thousands of acres of land in Kerio Valley have been washed away by surface running water from the highlands, creating huge gullies that have rendered the once fertile farms in Elgeyo Marakwet County waste lands.

But this trend is set to be reversed after farmers in the area discovered a wonder plant called Vetipher Grass that they hope would reclaim the lost land and return it to its productivity once again.
