Sonic comparison of 8 microphones recording solo trumpet in various styles, dynamics and timbres across the range of the instrument.

The microphones tested here are: Royer R121, Neumann KM184, Neumann KM54, Neumann U47 FET, Neumann U87, AKG C414 B-TL II, Beyerdynamic M201 & Sennheiser MD441. The mics were recorded through an API 3124 into Logic X, level matched, with no EQ, compression or reverb.

Recorded at The Drum Den studios, UK 17/2/15 by Darren Williams.
