Haidong Gumdo Ssangsu Sword Form #5

Описание к видео Haidong Gumdo Ssangsu Sword Form #5

Ssangsu #5 involves introducing some basic acrobatics to the form. While they are fairly low-level, any tumbling, if done unsafely, can cause serious injury or death. LISTEN TO THE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AND FOLLOW THEM!!! We do not want anyone getting hurt, but if you don't listen to the safety warnings and follow them, it is your fault that you got hurt. Also, it is best if you not try repeating the form too many times in one day, especially if you haven't gotten it completely right yet. Three times at most, then take a break, get a drink, and if you aren't doing it right, wait for another day.

The fifth form is an archer-fighting form. Even though we practice as though we brought a sword to a bow-and-arrow fight, we realize that in the actual historical situation, we'd be fairly well doomed. But hey, might as well put up a fight. The second jump-cut is meant to be thought of as a double cut to deflect an arrow. The forward roll is meant to dodge another arrow and close the distance between you and the archer. Again, it wouldn't have a good success rate, but it's better than just standing there and screaming at the archer that he's cheating.
