Itır Erhart is the co-founder of Adım Adım, an initiative that brings together amateur athletes to run and raise funding for charities.
Itir takes us along the Adim Adim marathon one step at a time. She studied philosophy and Western Languages & Literatures at Boğaziçi University where she also completed her M.A. in Philosophy. She got her M.Phil at the University of Cambridge. In 2006 she earned her PhD from Bogazici University in philosophy. She is the author of the book "What Am I?" and several articles on gender, sports, human rights and media.
Currently, she is working as an assistant professor at Istanbul Bilgi University. İtir is also the co-founder of Adim Adim, Turkey's first charity running group. In 2009 she was featured on CNN Turk's "Turkey's Changemakers," which is sponsored by the Sabanci Foundation. She was awarded Ten Outstanding Persons (TOYP) award in 2010. She has given talks on sports and fundraising at several universities and NGOs including YGA and Sogla.
