These families of mammal eaters were first reported to us this morning by a passenger aboard a WS Ferry on the Edmonds/Kingston run. Fog quickly engulfed Puget Sound and it was several hours later before the next report which by then had them off Discovery Park, North Seattle. I went to West Seattle and found them at about 1:00 p.m. just as they were on the edge of and beginning to head into Elliott Bay towards downtown Seattle. For the next 90 minutesI and many others watched as they cruised along the downtown waterfront, closer to the Seattle side, where they continued deep into the bay then flipped and heading out closer to the West Seattle side. Once out of Elliot bay they chose a Northwesterly course.
