Southern Pacific 4449: The Holiday Comeback

In January of 2013, Southern Pacific steam locomotive #4449 became cold and silent temporarily in order to begin the 15 year FRA rebuild and boiler re-certification. In November of 2015; after nearly three years of blood, sweat and tears, one of the most famous steam locomotives let her sounds be known to the pacific northwest once again as it takes to the rails for the Oregon Rail Heritage Foundation's 10th annual Holiday Express!

Northwest Daylight Productions was there to capture the Daylight's unofficial comeback! The special trains operate on the Oregon Pacific Railroad and include Speeder rides in conjunction with the North American Railcar Operators Association.
