Our incredibly helpful brains are throwing up the intrusive thoughts because they're trying to help us clean away the bad things so we can pursue the goals we've set. So it's useful to consider the goals we're choosing. If I believe I shouldn't have bad thoughts, it would only encourage the brain to throw up bad thoughts so I can clean them away and get that certainty and relief I'm chasing.
