Why are the teachings of John Paul II relevant today? I had some notes, and some things I wanted to say . . . but when I sat down in front of the camera, I couldn’t speak. I was overwhelmed with my own need for this man’s fatherhood. And I think that word says it all.
What makes John Paul II relevant today? We need fathers. We don’t know who we are. When we don’t know who our Father is, we don’t know our own identity. . . The culture talks a big line about identity, about sexual identity, but apart from The Father, we don’t have a clue.
That’s why the teachings of John Paul II are relevant today: because we need to know who we are as men and women, made in the image and likeness of God. And John Paul II’s teachings in His Theology of the Body unfold this beautifully.
