One way to safely discharge a Lipo

Here's a common technique on safely discharging a fully charged lipo in the event that you know it may not get used for a while.

This technique uses a 12V headlight/back up light available at most automotive stores. This is then hooked to your preferred battery connector and then to your battery. The light will help in discharging your battery. You can also wire up additional lights if you want to discharge your batteries in a quicker amount of time. I highly recommend using a battery checker OR a watt meter while doing this to monitor the voltage level and cells.
