How to Install Retention Hardware on Dara Holster

In this video we’ll demonstrate how to install retention hardware on one of our IWB Holsters.

First step:
Insert rubber grommets between material, aligning grommet holes with retention holes.

Second step:
On side opposite the belt attachment, insert posts into holes. Hold in place while turning holster over.

Third step:
Align finishing washers with holes.

Fourth step:
Insert screws.

Common Questions-

Can I tighten factory set retention?
Yes. Please do!

My retention is either too tight or too loose. How can it be fixed?
Adjust screw in quarter turns instead of 1 or 2 turns. Fit test in between each adjustment.

My holster only has one retention hole. Why?
Because certain firearms only need one retention hole.

My rubber grommets is squished, is that okay?
Yes, it’s totally fine. Just be sure the screw isn’t poking out the back.

My retention hardware rattles, is that okay?
No. That means the hardware is way too loose and will fall out. Tighten it up.

Should I loctite my hardware?
Yes. The hardware is adjustable, meaning it’s purposely intended to tighten or loosen easily. It may end up loosening on its own if not properly tightened and checked often. Loctite will give you peace of mind.
