Here’s the recipe

Ingredients -

750g (1.3lbs) - Beef Mince (Ground Beef) 82% Lean 18% Fat
2 tsp (5g) - Garlic Powder
1 tsp (2.5g) - Onion Powder
1 - Brown Onion, Finely Diced
110g (3.8oz) - American Cheddar Cheese or Cheese Of Choice
Iceberg Lettuce, Shredded (I Used 1/4)
2 - Roma Tomatoes, Thinly Sliced
Butter To Spread
2-4 - Hoagie or Crusty Hot Dog Buns
Garlic Mayonnaise
Seasoning To Taste

Method -

Form the beef mince into patties, 180g/190g in size.

Place a large pan over high heat, add the patties, a generous seasoning of salt and pepper (you can also add cajun spice here or any spice mix of choice) and press down to form a crust. Sear for 2-3 minutes or until a crust has formed. Flip the patties, add the finely diced onion and use a spatula to chop the patties into bits (it’s good to have large chucks, don’t break it down too much). Add the American cheddar cheese or a cheese of choice, turn off the heat and cover with a lid until the cheese has melted. Remove from the stove top.

Make a slice in the side of the buns and spread generously with butter. Toast in the oven on grill or broil or toast in a pan. Remove and spread on the garlic mayonnaise, add the beef, top with tomatoes and lettuce then close and wrap the sandwich tightly. Slice in half and reveal that beautiful centre. Dig in.
